Militant hideout busted in south Kashmir’s Shopian: Police

Srinagar: In a joint operation, Jammu and Kashmir police and army on Monday busted a militant hideout in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police spokesperson said that the hideout was busted in the orchards of Shirmal village in Zainapora area of the district.

Incriminating material and other items have been recovered from the hideout, he said.

SSP Shopian Sandeep Choudary said that “on specific information about presence of militants in the orchards of village Shirmal, Police along with 44 RR  launched a SADO.”

During the search in orchards a hide constructed by militants and their associates to conceal their presence was busted, he said.
