Mehbooba’s cousin allotted posh wakaf flat is nepotism: NC
Srinagar:National conference on Friday has made allegations against the Peoples Democratic Party for illegally transferring the Wakaf property.
Taking to social networking site Twitter NC spokesperson Junaid Azim Matoo wrote: “Illegal transfer of prized Wakf Property allotted to a cousin of @MehboobaMufti and daughter of @jkpdp MLA Dooru Farooq Andrabi on 23/06/2018 without a public auction. VC Wakf Board was PDP Leader Nizam-ud-din Bhat. In contravention of Supreme Court guidelines and provisions of law.”
According to wakf board order no 15 of 2018 “sanction is here accorded to allotment of set (no 05&06) in Gupkar wakaf complex in favour of Miss Syed Sharqiya daughter of Farooq Andrabi resident of Urjoo toll post Anantnag subjected to the conditions that:- The monthly licence fee shall be Rs 5500 for set no 5 and 6500 for set no 6 as negotiated.”
The order further reads that an increase of 5% in case of extension/renewal of license ( beyond 11 months) will be effected on expiry of the license period of 11 months.
“The licence will execute a fresh license deed wef 23 -06-2018 as per standard terms and conditions,” the order reads.
Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, former Wakf Board vice-chairman and PDP general secretary, has been accused of transferring two flats to Syed Sharqiya, daughter of Farooq Andrabi. Andrabi is Mehbooba’s uncle and was the Hajj and Auqaf Minister in the PDP-BJP government.
Another National Conference youth leader Sarah Hayat Shah said : “This is completely shocking. Mehbooba Mufti’s cousin Sharkiya Andrabi gets to grab the WAKF property at gupkar illegally. She is a daughter of MLA Dooru, Farooq Andrabi. What a shame!”
Earlier senior PDP lawmakers accused Mehbooba of ‘changing Peoples Democratic Party into Family Democratic party’.
