Life on halt, downtown railing under curfew on Sunday

Residents of downtown woke up on Sunday morning to witness strict curfew and restriction, as JRL has given a shutdown call for today against the killings of three militants and a civilian who was crushed to death by a police vehicle during protests.
With frequent shutdowns crippling life in Kashmir, Srinagar wore a deserted look with all shops closed and public transport off the roads. Authorities have deployed additional paramilitary forces at all sensitive areas of downtown Srinagar to contain protests. Srinagar is brewing with anger after a video clip has gone viral showing police armoured vehicle crushing to death a protester Adil Ahmed in Noor Bagh Srinagar.
Meanwhile many students from downtown Srinagar complained that they faced lot of difficulties while going to examination centres on Sunday morning. Many parents said that their wards reached late for the NEET examination. Police said that they had already told all the SHO’s to help medical aspirants to reach examination halls without any difficulties.
