Army conduct night raids in Panzoo Tral, several arrested

Tral: Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Unit along with CRPF and SOG, conducted night raids in Panzoo village of Tral after the news on social media network sites went viral about the joining of a local youth into Jaish-e-Muhammad. Fayaz Ahmad a young local boy of Panzoo village of Tral recently uploaded his picture announcing his joining to the militant outfit. RR not only brought out the inmates of many houses in open, but arrested several youth after allegedly thrashing them.

Local told this reporter that army took along two youth to their camp identified as Aquib Ahmad Malik son of Muhammad Ashraf Malik and Umar Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Beigh. Locals have demanded immediate release of two youth and said that army and police were forcing the local youth to join the militant ranks as they thrash and interrogate them.

A delegation from the village went to SP Awantipora office to know the whereabouts of these two youth and the police has refused to release them or to give any details about their detention.
