State CM Mehbooba Mufti who came back from New Delhi on Monday evening is going to hold a high level meeting post Shopian killings. Mehbooba had to cut short her Delhi visit after she came under barrage of criticism from Oner Abdullah who said that she had proved her irrelevance by her absence from Kashmir valley.
Mehbooba after reaching Srinagar held several meetings with police and civil officers and has directed the hospital authorities to provide all assistance and help to the injured people who are presently being treated in Srinagar hospitals.
As her trouble shooter Nayeem Akhtar failed to defend her on Twitter she tweeted that everyday it breaks her heart to see the continuous cycle of violence in Kashmir and asked for cooperation from opposition parties.
Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her displeasure over the excessive use of force by police and security forces on the protesters in Shopian in which hundreds of people were injured. Reports said that Mehbooba has got a feedback from her party activists that those thirteen militants killed most of them were teenagers who have recently joined militant ranks out of anger.
Mehbooba is facing a huge challenge as her all recent efforts to find some way to the reconciliation and solution have been washed out by bloodbath on Sunday in which hundreds of civilians were injured and many of them with pellet guns.
