Tral under seige ahead of Burhan Wani anniversary

Tral town and adjacent areas are virtually under seige as authorities fear protests and violence on the first anniversary of slain Hizbul commander Burhan Wani.

Reports from the area said that police have arrested dozens of youth in Tral and from many areas of Pulwama district. Locals told vov that police also seized hundreds of motor bikes on tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Authorities have decided to beef up the security in entire Kashmir valley especially in south kashmir as separatists have already given a week long protest calender in connection with Burhan Wani anniversary.

Media reports said that father of Burhan Wani was summoned by police on tuesday to know whether he has any protest programme in tral. He has reportedly told police that he was not any leader but told them that if youth and people along with joint resistance leadership organise any event he cannot stop them.
