New Director DSEK
SRINAGAR: Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo (KAS) today assumed office as Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK). Soon after taking over, Dr Itoo convened a meeting with the officers and officials of the DSEK and reviewed the progress on key administrative, academic and financial matters in the Department.
He stressed the need for cooperation and involvement of all the stakeholders, particularly the teaching community and the civil society in making education sector vibrant in Kashmir.
He said that our talented teachers have already started an academic revolution in the State by conducting voluntary tuitions and are transforming the academics in schools, and added the need of the hour is to carry forward this mission for transformation with fresh zeal so that we are able to produce best students from our schools.
The Director called for maintaining, discipline, transparency and accountability in the Department and ensuring that the teachers and the non-teaching staff are not put to any inconvenience during disposal of service and official matters.
With a doctorate in Sociology from the prestigious Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Dr Itoo was till recently posted as Director Estates.
