Grand Welcome for First Batch of Amarnath Yatris at Shadipora Transit Camp

Bandipora, July 2: In a heartwarming gesture that showcased the spirit of Kashmiriyat and communal harmony, the first batch of Amarnath Yatris was given a grand welcome at the Shadipora Transit Camp in Bandipora district. The pilgrims, on their way to the Holy Amarnath cave shrine, were greeted with flower showers and garlands by the district administration and local residents.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, along with SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta and other officials, personally received the yatris at the camp. Traditional Kashmiri hospitality was on full display as officials and volunteers showered the pilgrims with flower petals, presented garlands, and offered refreshments.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Manzoor Ahmad Qadri expressed his gratitude to the locals and the administration for making the arrangements seamless. “We are committed to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting journey for all the pilgrims. We offered refreshment, garlands and showered flower petals on yatris. The welcome at Shadipora reflects our collective dedication to the success of this sacred yatra,” he said.
The yatris expressed joy and appreciation for the warm reception. Many said they were touched by the affection and kindness shown by the local people and the administration.
Shadipora Transit Camp serves as a crucial stop for pilgrims on the Baltal route of the yatra. The camp has been equipped with medical facilities, food stalls, lodging, and 24×7 helpline services to assist the devotees.
