J&K Police Nab Fake Yatra Card Holder at Baltal

Ganderbal, July 1: In a decisive action to safeguard the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), J&K Police apprehended a man attempting to exploit the pilgrimage’s security measures with a fraudulent Yatra Registration Card.
The suspect, identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, hails from Dwarka Puri in Jagadhri, Haryana. He was caught when he attempted to deceive security personnel at a checkpoint in Baltal, thereby bypassing the necessary security protocols that ensure the safety of all pilgrims.
Authorities report that Mittal had acquired the counterfeit Yatra Card through illicit means, which led to him facing immediate scrutiny from security forces. The police have registered an FIR (No. 13/2025) at the Sonamarg Police Station, and an extensive investigation is currently underway.
The J&K Police emphasize their unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity and safety of the yatra, announcing that strict legal action will be pursued against anyone who engages in such deceptive practices.
