NC’s Aga Ruhullah to Submit Bill for Complete Liquor Ban in Jammu and Kashmir
National Conference Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, is mulling to introduce a private member’s bill in the Lok Sabha aimed at enforcing a total ban on liquor and intoxicants in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehdi expressed his hope that the bill will be presented in either the current or the next parliamentary session, and sought support from fellow legislators for its passage.

In a post on X Mehdi said, “I am submitting a private member’s bill to enforce, implement and promote the complete Prohibition of liquor and intoxicants in the Jammu & Kashmir. I hope this bill gets tabled in the Parliament during this session or the next. I also hope I get the support of the fellow Parliamentarians to get this bill passed.”
