Cop Dies Two Days After Being Hit by Speeding Vehicle in South Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A police officer injured in a road accident in the Mir Bazar area of South Kashmir two days ago succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Quoting an official, local news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that the accident occurred on Saturday on NHW-44 near Malpora Mir Bazar when a speeding Tempo with registration number JK02AT-0730 hit HC Ab Rashid, aged about 52 years, who was performing Yatra duty.
He said that the cop was critically injured in the incident and was initially shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment. He was then referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation.
