Public Darbar held at Mini Secretariat of Ganderbal to redress grievances of commonpeople

Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA held a Public Darbar at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal and listen to the issues and concerns of common people.

This Public Darbar was held in continuation of efforts of the administration to connect people and listen to their grievances.

Public Darbar, which was a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to connect with the people at the grassroots level and ensure efficient delivery of public services, witnessed an overwhelming participation of DDC members, Councillors, PRI representatives besides prominent citizens.

DDC vice Chairperson Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir, ADDC Ganderbal, president Municipal Council Ganderbal, ADC, CPO besides heads of various government departments including Revenue, , Power, Health, Education, Public Works, FCS&CA, Agriculture and allied departments, were present to address the concerns specific to their respective sectors.

On the occasion PRI representatives raised several genuine concerns and development issues pertaining to their areas including CT scan facility at District Hospital, widening of Pandach Beehama road, women’s college, buffer stock of transformers, RTC yard, early commissioning of ongoing bridges, unscheduled power cuts, Lari Preng water scheme, ration stores in several areas, road widening in Tulamulla, proper disposal of Waste at Tulamulla, Beautification of town, removal of encroachments in town and other issues of general public.

Addressing on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary underscored the significance of public outreach camps and noted that these gatherings provide a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and for the government to expedite their resolution through the appropriate channels.

Reaffirming government’s commitment towards development and welfare of the people, the Commissioner Secretary assured them that their concerns would be thoroughly examined and would be conveyed to the relevant department for resolution. He impressed upon government officials to remain accessible to the public and fixed timelines for completion of various vital projects especially pertaining to Jal Shakti, R&B and PMGSY.

On the occasion PRIs also highlighted the progress achieved under various beneficiary oriented schemes and flagship programs besides, developmental activities registered from last 4 years in the district who complemented the district administration for these achievements.

Regarding ST Can facility at District Hospital, CMO Ganderbal informed that 2 CT scans have been sanctioned for DH and SDH Kangan which will be procured very soon.

Similarly, The Executive Engineer JKPDCL informed that sufficient number of buffer transformers is already available in the district besides power is supplied as per the curtailment schedule.

Replying the unscheduled power cuts in the district, the Commissioner Secretary appealed the general masses to make judicious use of electricity during the winter so that unscheduled power cuts are avoided and transformers are saved from overloading which is main cause of unscheduled power cuts.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC complimented the PRIs and locals for their active participation in the public darbar and asked them to celebrate the UT Foundation Day on 31th October with zeal and enthusiasm. He also suggested them to frame development plans involving prominent citizens and youth on the same day adding that a 3 tier PRI system has been established with the purpose that no area gets neglected with respect to people welfare and urged all to play a vital role for positive change.
