The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has been retrieving the state land from the criminals and has directed all the Deputy Commissioners to retrieve this land for the public utilization.

In Srinagar district Deputy Commissioner has directed all the Tehsildars to launch an anti-encroachment drive on a massive scale in all the Tehsils of the District so that all identified encroached State/Kahcharie land is retrieved from the land grabbers in a time bound manner. He asked them to conduct an anti encroachment drive on a weekly basis and enforce legal action against the violators.

He asked the Tehsildars to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices and monitor each chunk of land in their respective jurisdictions. He also asked them to activate their field staff to keep proper check and vigil on any kind of encroachments in respective jurisdiction.

He said performance of Revenue Officers is being strictly monitored on the parameters of eviction and protection of State/Kahcharie land and effective, efficient and prompt implementation of Public Services Guarantee Act. He directed them to work with added zeal and missionary approach to safeguard State/Kahcharie land from land grabbers, besides ensuring hassle free public delivery system in the District.

He asked all the Tehsildars to ensure quality disposal of all online/offline Grievances particularly about Migrant properties in a time bound manner.

He directed for notifying schedules for holding mutation related camps to facilitate the people.
