Power supply without any interruptions is still a dream for the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially in the rural areas. Recently LG Manoj Sinha reviewed the functioning of the Power Department and gave a lot of directions to his team of engineers to streamline the power distribution system.
He said that the Government committed to improving the power supply position in J&K to meet challenges in fulfilling energy needs of the people.
While asking the engineers to remain vigilant on the ground, Manoj Sinha asked them to take preemptive measures for reducing the AT&C losses to bare minimum.
In order to fix the responsibility within the system of administration the government has decided that officers responsible for AT&C, Feeder losses to be held accountable for these losses.
In order to work on the modern lines and prepare for the future population so that they do not face the power woes LG asked the engineers to prepare a long term strategy for providing quality power with a good mix of different power sources.
Acknowledging the role of ground staff of the power development department to work and many of them were either consumed by the power during their duties and some of them injured.
In order to get a better performance from the ground staff, the government has asked the engineers to incentivize the field staff so that they give better performance on the ground.
