While the government has unlocked Srinagar city and other parts of Kashmir in a phased manner with restrictions remaining in force for weekends along with night curfew, the government has been appealing people to cooperate and adhere to the sops prescribed by the government to avoid the spread of covid-19 infection.
In this direction Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad on Thursday said that unlock process started by the government doesn’t mean that Covid pandemic was over, while making a fresh appeal to the people to adhere to the covid appropriate behavior.
He along with police officers visited Lal Chowk Srinagar on Thursday to have first hand information of how the sops were being followed both by the traders and the common people.
According to the KNO, DC Srinagar, Aijaz Asad along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary, Superintendent of Police (SP) East and SDPO East visited Lal Chowk today to see whether the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) were being followed by the people.
“We visited here today to ensure that the SOPs are followed in letter and spirit. The government has announced the unlock process, which doesn’t mean the Covid pandemic is over,” he said.
He said that doing away with SOPs leads to lockdown and other strict measures, therefore, the people must follow protocol in letter and spirit to fight this pandemic.
