Center of emergency established in Srinagar for covid patients

As the Srinagar city is witnessing a steep rise in the covid positive case and there is growing demand for beds in the hospitals, Srinagar administration on Monday has established a COVID-19 center for emergency here.

There are a lot of complaints pouring in from Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir about the lack of space available in the covid designated hospitals.

The people who are infected with covid-19 and are under home quarantine, have also complained that there is shortage of many medicines in the market to treat the infection.

The government has been maintaining that they are prepared to make the challenges and have enough beds, medicine and other equipment including hospital oxygen available for all the patients.

Kashmir News Observer KNO in its report has said that Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar told that that a COVID-19 center for emergency has been set up at Indoor Stadium of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar, Syed Muhammad Hanief Balkhi while giving details in this regard said that the patients with mild symptoms will be accommodated in the COVID-19 centres including at Indoor Stadium.

“Like previous year, many COVID-19 centres have been established again at Indoor Stadium, Sanat Nagar Marriage hall, Kashmir University Zakura campus, NIT Srinagar and Haj house,” he said.

Besides beds, he said that oxygen facility will also be made available at these COVID-19 centres.
