Rajouri shows the way
The District Administration, Rajouri, operating under Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Nazir Sheikh, has successfully curtailed the spread of Covid after three people tested positive in the district three weeks ago.
No Covid positive case has been reported in the district during the past three weeks.
Industrial unit, 14 shop owners booked in Samba
- The police have booked 14 shopkeepers and an industrial unit in Samba district for violating the prohibitory orders issued to observe complete lockdown in view of Covid
- Eight cases were registered against 10 shopkeepers for running their karyana shops during the day, violating the timing slots at Jhang, Keranwali, Raika Labana, Gurwal and Chak Baglan villages, Barota Camp and Pakhri area of Samba
- Two karyana shop owners were booked at Bari-Brahmana and a case was registered for violating prohibitory orders whereas two shopkeepers were booked at Vijaypur Police Station
- Another case was registered against the management of Industrial Unit Kashmir Chemical, operating from at SIDCO Phase 1. The police said the drive would remain in force and stringent action would be taken against violators OC
All three patients who tested positive earlier, including a retired doctor, his son and another person, had Tablighi Jamaat history.
The doctor and his son, who tested positive in Jammu, have recovered and tested negative while the third patient is still under treatment.
The police, under the supervision of SSP Chandan Kohli, have also played an appreciable role in implementing the lockdown restrictions.
Quarantine facilities, having a total of about 1,160 beds, have been created at 38 locations across the district. A 20-bed isolation centre has also been established at the Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH).
Till Thursday, 2,655 persons have been enlisted for observation and 1,341 have completed surveillance.
Also, no death has been reported from the district. Out of the 378 samples collected for testing, one tested positive, 312 tested negative while the report for the remaining was still awaited.
“The retired doctor and his son had undergone treatment at Jammu. Both have recovered and tested negative,” said Sher Singh, Additional DM.
