With just three Coronavirus positive cases left, the administration of Ladakh says the Union Territory has the potential to become one of the first Covod-19-free zones in the country. This dream could be true very soon as the three patients in the local hospital are responding to the treatment.
Recently according a health ministry document, Ladakhs’s fight against Covid-19 serves as a model for other regions. It attributes the success to the hard work of doctors and paramedics and leadership of the region, especially bureaucracy and NGO’s.
Union Territory of Ladakh has very less and scattered population and it has encouraged authorities to go for door to door testing in the area. The residents of Ladakh region have also cooperated with authorities and they have not hidden their travel histories.
Most of the COVID positive cases were due to the visit to Iran and all of them came to the hospitals for testing. If the Ladakh would be coronavirus free, it would be an inspiration for the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially for the administration to fight the virus and bring the curve down.
