Amid restrictions, people complained of police hurdles

Police and security forces on Wednesday in the continued lockdown have arrested several people for violating the restrictions. However common people have complained that the vehicles coming with essential commodities like milk and vegetables were not being allowed to enter Srinagar city. “We were beaten up by police when we were on the road to purchase milk” said, Arif Ahmad resident of Hyderpora.
Police has sealed Hyderpora area under a routine protocol to sanitize it as one person has tested positive of COVID-19 here on Tuesday. Police has been appealing people to cooperate so that cycle of COVID-19 virus could be broken. Already the positive cases in Kashmir have jumped to 4 but the first positive case being under treatment at SKIMS is on the path of recovery. Directors SKIMS Dr. Ahanger told media on Tuesday that out of 57 cases who tests were sent for confirmation, 54 tested negative. He has cautioned people not listen to the rumors and adhere to social isolation in order to combat COVID-19.
Reports from many parts of Srinagar city said that police was not allowing even to purchase them essential items from the market and were not allowing the shopkeepers selling these items to open their shops. They have appealed authorities’ especially Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to have visit of Srinagar city and ask police to allow people to purchase the essential items from markets.
