Plantation Drive held in Anantnag
ANANTNAG, MARCH 4: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in collaboration with Social Forestry Division Anantnag, Forest Department Anantnag and ITI Seer Hamadan organized a plantation drive, here today.
District & Sessions Judge Anantnag, Parvaiz Hussain Kachroo, inaugurated the Plantation Drive at ITI Seer.
Among others, DLSA Anantnag, Rafia Khaki, Conservator Forests South Range, Tawheed Dewa, DFO Social Forestry, District Soil & Water Conservation of Anantnag & Kulgam, Mohammad Ramzan, DFO Forest Division Anantnag and Deputy Director Forest Protection Force Anantnag and other concerned were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, a seminar was also organized about importance of plantation and conservation of forests and water resources.
Speaking on the occasion, District & Sessions Judge Anantnag said that we must do concrete efforts to save our forests. He added that students can play a vital role in creating awareness regarding the conservation of forests and plantation of tress, adding that they should act as ambassadors to aware people about the importance of plants for sustenance of life.
Conservator forests South Circle, Tawheed Ahmad Deva on the occasion said that every individual should plant one tree every year to contribute in conservation of forests. He added that need of the hour is to enforce the laws related to the forest protection.
Secretary DLSA Anantnag on the occasion provided awareness to the students regarding their duties towards society including preservation of trees and maintaining ecological balance.
