Scores of students with injuries in hospitals

Srinagar: The impact of excessive use of force by police and security forces on students across Kashmir became visible on Tuesday in hospitals of Srinagar. Many students have been referred to Srinagar with serious injuries. According to doctors in SMHS hospital they have received students with pellet injuries on the bodies and eyes. There has been lot of outrage on the serious condition of a girl from Rajouri Kadal Srinagar identified as Iqra. She is a student of Nawa Kadak College, though their protest was peaceful she was hit by a CRP stone as they take sling shots just for fun in various parts even on peaceful protests, alleged students. Iqra is battling for life with a serious head injury. According to doctors another youth from Shopian Basit Khurshid has received multiple injuries in Shopian as he was caught in student security tussle. A senior doctor of SMHS hospital said that he has already lost his right eye.

Reports from Kulgam and Sopore said that more students would be referred to Srinagar by district hospital authorities with injures.
