No school bags, books for pre-primary students, no homework upto standard 2nd: JK govt notifies new rules Srinagar: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir government has done away with formal textbooks and school bags for pre-primary students at the schools. A notification issued by Principal Secretary School Education, Asgar Hassan Samoon late on Wednesday also directed schools that no homework is assigned to students upto 2nd standard. The new rules issued in the notification, which amended Rule 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Act 2002, ordered school heads to provide a maximum of two notebooks/workbooks to pre-primary students instead of formal textbooks. Furthermore, the notebooks are to be kept in the custody of the teachers

+91 94190 35580: Budgam cop posted in Srinagar tests positive for Covid-19 Srinagar, Apr 16, KNT: A policeman from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district was tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.     Chief Medical Officer Dr Nazir Ahmed told KNT that the man from Rathsuna Budgam was found positive after coming in contact with Tableegi Jamat.    “He is posted at India Reserve Police (IRP) 3rd Battalion at Bemina Srinagar. Though he didn’t attend any religious event organized by Tableegi Jamat but came into contact with them in Srinagar,” Dr Nazir said.   He said that a message has been dispatched to his seniors and those who have come in his contact will be quarantined.    Among the 301 Covid-19 cases Srinagar has highest rate of active as well as recovery cases. 11 patients f
