Covid-19 pandemic is spreading in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the curve is showing upward trend. According to the official data 9 more persons who were the contacts of previous positive persons have tested positive. In Srinagar city, few areas have been declared as red zones as the people residing in these areas did not pay any heed to the repeated requests of authorities and police to stay indoors and maintain social distancing.
Physical distance is must to avoid Covid-19 virus and residents of Srinagar city should understand the gravity of problem and try to stay indoors in order to avoid the spread of infection. Doctors are fighting this battle on frontline so are the nurses and other paramedics.
They are treating the patients against all odds and even as they do not have a sufficient protective gear to save themselves from the spread of infection. Government should try to understand the problems being faced by medical fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir and should do the urgent interventions so that this frontline to fight the coronavirus is saved from the infection.
Srinagar city is under lockdown to combat coronavirus from March 19 and authorities are trying their best to locate all the infected persons and quarantine them.
People of Jammu and Kashmir especially in Srinagar city should pay heed to the repeated appeals of authorities to maintain social distance and to stay indoors so that the cycle of infection could be broken.
