17 arrested for violating orders in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday arrested 17 persons in Srinagar for violating prohibitory orders.

“In the jurisdiction of PS Nishat and PS Harwan, Police have arrested three persons including a shopkeeper and seized one vehicle for violating Govt prohibitory orders. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been initiated,” police said in a statement.

Besides, police have arrested nine persons and also seized eight vehicles for violating Govt prohibitory orders issued u/s 144 CrPC by District Magistrate Srinagar.

“Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and further investigation has been initiated.While in the jurisdiction of PS Khanyar, Police have arrested 05 persons for violating Govt. prohibitory orders issued u/s 144 CrPC by District Magistrate Srinagar. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Khanyar and further investigation has been initiated,” police said.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly.
