Advance ration distribution begins in Ganderbal

DC inspects ration stores takes stock of availability

GANDERBAL, MARCH 29: In view of total lockdown as a move to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 outbreak, the District Administration today started the process of advance two months’ ration distribution in the district. The advance ration for the month of April and May is being distributed among the beneficiaries.

Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today visited several ration stores in the district to have a first-hand appraisal of the distribution process and availability of rations in these stores. The ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba accompanied him..

During the inspection DC urged the FCS&CA officials to ensure uninterrupted supplies and deliveries of essential services to the general public of the district under strict safety protocol and guidelines.

He was informed that sufficient stock of essential commodities including  rice, atta, K-oil, and LPG is available in the district and process of advance ration distribution among the beneficiaries will be completed within the shortest possible time.

While interacting with the beneficiaries, the DC said that District administration has framed a comprehensive plan for smooth distribution of advance two-month ration in the district so that public gatherings are avoided and expressed gratitude to the people for observing total lockdown.

Meanwhile DC also distributed free ration kits among poor, needy and destitute families and migrant laborers at Block Office Kangan.

Important to mention that free ration will be distributed among as many as three thousand poor families and around 426 migrant laborers, who are presently residing in the district.
