Ladakh to take experts’ advice to boost tourism

The Department of Tourism, Ladakh, has decided to take the services of experts and NGOs in advisory role to boost tourism sector with an overall objective of sustainable development in the UT.

The advisory role of experts and NGOs will be taken from different categories, including adventure tourism, cultural heritage, homestay, conservation, wildlife, urban planning and publicity.

Nominated experts and NGOs in their respective specialised fields will advice and suggest the Ladakh Tourism Department about the new initiatives and innovative ideas needed to be taken into account for immediate action for the betterment of the tourism sector in the UT.

According to a notice issued by Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/ Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Ladakh, any interested expert and NGO from both districts of Ladakh who would like to be a part of the advisory panel may submit their name and organisation name to the office of Commissioner/ Secretary, Tourism & Culture, so that the advisory panel in the Tourism Department of UT would be constituted at the earliest.
