Education Department organizes Aid, Appliances Camp in Kupwara
KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 25: The Inclusive Education Wing of Education Department Kupwara in collaboration with SAMAGRA SHIKSHA (J&K) today organized Aid and Appliances distribution camp.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner ADC Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone was chief guest on the occasion.
Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Hameed Wani, Inclusive Education Coordinator, Mushtaq Ahmad, other concerned and scores of specially abled children participated in the camp.
On the occasion, the ADC distributed Smart canes and hearing aids among the specially abled children. Highlighting the contribution of specially abled person in various fields, he said these persons with impairment have proven their mettle in every field.
According to a survey conducted by Education Department, there are 3708 specially abled children in the district. Out of whom 2956 are registered in various government and private schools and 552 children are being provided escort facility to attend the school.
It was informed that 974 appliances including various aids were distributed among the specially abled children last year also.
