Global Investors Summit
UT administration of Jammu and Kashmir is busy in preparing for the Global Investors Summit 2020 scheduled from February 17 onwards. Recently, MD JKTPO made a presentation detailing the activities planned for pre, main and post-event. As part of a pre-event activity, roadshows have been scheduled from February 17, 2020, onwards in major cities across the country. Each roadshow shall focus on showcasing the specific sectors for seeking investment in J&K.
The roadshows will be held at Bengaluru, Kolkata on February 17, Mumbai on February 21, Hyderabad on March 2, Chennai on March 5 and Ahmedabad on March 9, 2020. Senior officers and dignitaries will preside over the pre-event functions slated during the roadshows to set the stage for the main summit. International roadshows are also being planned to attract foreign investment. Besides, Mini Conclaves will be held at Srinagar and Jammu in the month of March 2020. The signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with interested investors will also form a part of the roadshows and the main summit.
Global Investors Summit is the step in right direction and in the present conditions when the economy is totally down in Kashmir valley, such roadshows and evens will at least give home to the people that in future there would be a brighter side also.
People of Kashmir valley post August 5, 2019 till date have seen only dark tunnel without any end to it. Economy has got huge setbacks and even the tourism sector is not showing any signs of revival so far.
