ED grilling or safeguarding respect of Kashmir_what was the agenda of Farooq meeting with Modi?

Srinagar: Farooq Abdullah along with his two other MP’s met Prime Minister Modi on Thursday while as on Wednesday he was summoned by Enforcement Directorate to their office at Chandigarh. Farooq Abdullah recently said that he will meet Prime Minister as people of Kashmir have lost trust on New Delhi. When the news came about the meeting of Farooq with Modi, his political rival Sajad Gani Lone said that who knows what transpired between Modi and Farooq, may be he was trying to convince prime Minister to leave him off the hook from cricket scam.
Farooq Abdullah has been at the receiving end in the past also as most of the mainstream political parties of Kashmir including the newly emerging Engineer Rashid and Sajad Lone have been accusing his party and family for the present situation in Kashmir. Even the PDP recently in a statement said that both Farooq and his son Omar Abdullah were trying to build bridges with BJP government at the centre to get back power.
But Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday claimed that Modi government was brazenly using the Central Investigative agencies against Kashmir mainstream leaders including Farooq Abdullah. Media had reported that Farooq was grilled for six hours by ED sleuths in connection with 113 crore cricket association scam in which Farooq Abdullah is one of the accused.
Sajad Gani Lone has taken a pot shot on Farooq Abdullah over his meeting with Prime Minister Modi. He said that why Farooq Abdullah was in hurry to meet Prime Minister even without holding all party meeting in Kashmir. He said that it could have been a mercy petition by Farooq Abdullah before Prime Minister for his economic crimes. Farooq Abdullah has been on the forefront for safeguarding of article 35 A and article 370.
