9 girls, two boys dead, seven injured in Peer ki Gali mishap

Srinagar,: Nine girls and two boys died while seven others sustained injuries after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Peer ki gali in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to KNS correspondent, eleven bodies were recovered from the deep gorge, adding that the deceased include nine girls and two boys who were on a picnic from Poonch district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Dr. Owais Ahmad told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that seven persons including one in critical condition who were injured in the mishap have been referred to Srinagar’s hospital for specialized treatment.

However, he said it has come to the fore that a private institute from Poonch was on Picnic and the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident due to over speeding
