Noorabad: Villagers of Noorabad told this reporter that the work on the main connectivity between Aharbal to Reshi Nagar is an under construction bridge, which was started many years back, but is still to be completed. Blaming politicians, bureaucrats and the contractors for the delay, the villagers said that the brunt of the delay has to be on their shoulders.

Many elders told this reporter that they have visited the District Development Commissioner Kulgam many times requesting them to complete the bridge, but of no use. Another villager said that they are being told to visit two district authorities that is Shopian and Kulgam, as this bridge will connect the villagers from both the districts.

“We have visited both District Development Commissioners of Shopian and Kulgam, but the bridge remains incomplete. We appeal Governor Administration especially the Advisor in-charge to look into this matter and allow us to live lives like human beings”, the village elders told this reporter.

If the bridge is completed, it will give respite to the hundreds of villagers in both the districts of Shopian and Kulgam. This will also give respite to those snowbound villages, whose roads are still under snow in this month of March.
