Muttahida Ulema Council withdraws Saturday shutdown call at Mirwaiz’s request
Srinagar: Muttahida Ulema Council on Wednesday called off the strike for Saturday at the request of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
A statement issued by the office of Deputy Mufti Azam Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam said that the call for shutdown has been withdrawn at Mirwaiz’s request.
The MUC had called for shutdown against the summoning of Mirwaiz by the National Investigation Agency for questioning to its Delhi office in “terror funding case”.
Earlier, Mirwaiz in a tweet had thanked the MUC for its support and requested it to call off the shutdown.
