Tral gunfight: Forces resort to aerial firing during clashes in Tral bus stand

Srinagar: Government forces on Thursday restored to aerial firing during violent stone pelting clashes with civilian protesters in main bus stand of Tral township.

Reports aid that soon after the gunfight broke out between the militants and government forces, the youth took to streets and clashed with government forces at many places in the area, resulting in pellet injuries to several persons.

Earlier, the government forces resorted to aerial firing after youth pelted them with stones, meanwhile, the area is observing a complete shutdown and internet services have also been suspended in the area.

The gunfight at Gulshan Pora Tral began today morning after forces launched the CASO in the area. A police official said that the CASO was launched in the area after inputs about the presence of militants in the area. He said that the army, J&K Police and the paramilitary CRPF personnel are on job.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police took to the twitter handle and wrote: “Exchange of fire between security forces & militants at higher reaches of Tral Awantipora. Further details will follow.”
