Kashmir University students offer prayers in absentia to Naveed Jatt, associate

Srinagar: Dozens of students of Kashmir University (KU) on Wednesday held funeral prayers in absentia for LeT commander Naveed Jatt and his associate who were killed in a gunfight with the forces in Budgam district.

Reports said that scores of the students from various departments took out the protest march from in the Varsity. The protesting students later assembled at the premises of the varsity and offered the prayers in absentia for the slain militants.

Meanwhile, the students of Government Bemina Degree College held a protest demonstration against the killing of slain Lashkar commander Naveed Jatt.

Reports said students raised “pro-freedom and anti-India” slogans and marched through the campus and onto the main road.

Earlier, a gunfight broke out after a joint team of army and SOG cordoned off Kuthpora village of Chattergam and ended up with the killing of two militants including top Lashkar commander Naveed Jatt.
