Six militants army men killed in shopian encounter
Army spokesman in Srinagar confirmed that six militants and an army jawan were killed on Sunday morning at Batgund village of Shopian. Reports said that in the early morning hours government forces and army on information, encircled the hideout of militants resulting in gunfight.
Police said that they have yet to identify the bodies of the militants and confirmed that weapons and war like stores have been recovered at sight of encounter. Authorities have imposed restrictions in sensitive areas of south Kashmir and have suspended internet services to prevent protests. More details are awaited.
