When BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday participated in ‘victory’ of his ally Sajad Lone by capturing Srinagar city, there is no element of surprise left in it. As predicted by governor Satya Pal Malik, mayor of Srinagar city is Junaid Azeem Matoo. BJP with the help of growing clout of intelligence bureau (IB) on gupkar road has been able to turn the tables against the proxies of NC PDP and congress and virtually handed over Srinagar city to Sajad Gani Lone their “dark horse” for coming assembly elections in J&K state.

Was the recently held ULB elections in J&K state especially in Kashmir valley an intelligence operation as perceived by most of the prominent mainstream political parties like NC and PDP or was BJP and Sajad Lone clever enough to fill the space.

Omer Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti and other mainstream parties are feeling the heat of New Delhi’s changed policy on Kashmir valley as they are trying to create a new political force to sideline them.

Ram Madhav and Sajad again Lone are trying to script  a new change in Kashmir valley by forging a new alliance ahead of assembly elections in J&K state. According to political analysts and senior leaders of PDP and NC, central intelligence agencies were nudging many political faces to come on one platform with Sajad Gani Lone. Already some faces were visible on Thursday bash hosted by Junaid Azeem Matoo for Ram Madhav in a Srinagar hotel. PDP rebels like Imran Raza Ansari his uncle Abid Ansari and Yasir Reshi were present there.

Sajad Lone is being helped to get workers and many political activists in Srinagar city to make his presence and in this process he is trying to emerge as a new alternative to PDP for future. “Sajad Lone is being helped by New Delhi in the manner as they helped late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to form PDP against NC” said a senior leader of NC to this reporter.

There is a growing perception in Srinagar and rest of Kashmir valley that BJP with the help of intelligence agencies will try to create a well oiled ground network of its supporters by conducting ULB and panchayat elections. NC and PDP in desperation are trying to now field proxy candidates for panchayat elections as they have already announced boycott of these elections.
