KU students offer prayers in absentia to Mannan, associate

Srinagar:The students of Kashmir University on Thursday offered prayers in absentia for the slain rebel scholar who was killed during an encounter today.
Reports said that scores of the students from various departments took out the protest march from Zakura hostel to the Varsity. The protesting students later assembled at the premises of the varsity and offered the prayers in absentia for the slain militants.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out after a joint team of army’s 30 RR and SOG cordoned off Shatgund Balla in Handwara and ended up with the killing of two militants. the militants were identified as Manan Bashir Wani, a Ph.D. scholar turned militant and Ashiq Hussain Zarger, son Ghulam Mohidin zarger.
