Residents of Aripal tehsil of Tral demands power station

SRINAGAR: Despite tall claims of development by the successive governments, Aripal Tehsil of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is without power receiving station.

Residents said that they are still waiting for power receiving station. Theysaid that different villages of Aripal despite assurances from last five years nothing has been done so far.

They said that they are suffering due to power crisis since last many years, especially during winter season. “We even proposed to provide our land for the installation of power station but no concrete step was taken yet”, they said.

“We are fed up of frequent curtailments. From the last five years, government has been assuring us that they will install power station in the area to avoid unscheduled power cuts and other technical snags, but nothing has been done on ground,” locals from Jawaharpora Lam said.

Chief engineer projects Naseer Ahmad when contacted said the work on the power station will be initiated soon. (PTK)
