Govt orders termination of services of MGNREGA employees

SRINAGAR, : The state government on Thursday ordered the disengagement of services of all the employees engaged under centrally sponsored Scheme MGNREGA who had been appointed without following the guidelines as was prescribed under law.

As per the details available with “Early Times”, Secretary to Government, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Sheetal Nanda vide order No. 203-RD&PR of 2018 Dated 9-08-2018, directed all the District Development Commissioners (DDCs) of the state to submit the compliance report with regard to the directions issued by the government on account of termination of services of MGNREGA employees who had been appointed without any proper procedure. “In order to streamline/rationalize the existing contractual engagements made under MGNREGS in accordance with MGNREGA guidelines.

It is hereby ordered that all the engagements made under the scheme in contravention to rules/norms/guidelines in vogue and without following due procedure shall be discontinued with immediate effect” read the order which further added that the District Development Commissioners shall submit an action taken report in the matter within fifteen days.
