Civilian shot dead in Shopian village

A civilian on Saturday was shot dead after government forces opened fire during clashes in Chatpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to reports the slain has been Bilal Ahmad Khan, a resident of Pujoo village of  Kral Chuk.

They said that Bilal suffered a bullet injury in his chest after government forces fired at protesters  who had gathered at Ganowpora village for funeral prayers of one slain militant.

He was shifted to district hospital Shopian where doctors declared him brought dead .

Earlier, five militants were killed in Kiloora Shopian during an encounter.

Scores of people have sustained injuries near the gunfight sight during clashes with government forces.
