NIA files charge-sheet against four accused in escapade of Naveed Jatt

Srinagar:The National Investigation Agency on Friday filed a charge-sheet at NIA Special Court, Jammu against  Mohammad  Tika Khan, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Syed Tajmul Islam Kirmani, Mohammad Shafi Wani.

As per NIA, they are responsible for helping escape of LeT militant Mohd. Naveed Jatt @ Abu Hanjulla after an attack on Police Escort party 06.02.2018 while he was being taken for medical treatment at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital (SMHS), Srinagar.

Two police personnel of the escort party were killed in the incident.

During the investigation, it was found that the escape was in furtherance of a well-planned criminal conspiracy hatched among Mohd. Naveed Jatt @ Abu Hanjulla @ Munna @ Chhota s/o Mohammad Hanief Jatt residence of Chak No-421/EB Boruhwala, District Vehari Multan, Punjab, Pakistan, Hilal Ahmad Rather, Mohd. Tika Khan, Shakeel Ahmad Bhatt, Syed Tajmul Islam Kirmani @ Kachroo, Mohd. Shafi Wani all residents of different villages in Kakapora Tehsil of Pulwama District (J&K).

The investigation revealed that the accused conducted meetings in the Central Jail, Srinagar on different dates before the incident and a comprehensive plan was made to effect the escape of LeT militant Mohd Naveed Jatt.

As per the plan and in furtherance of the criminal conspiracy, the accused conducted a detailed recce of the SMHS Hospital as well as routes to be followed before and after the action.

They also arranged vehicles and weapons to be used in the execution of the plan. During an investigation, accused Mohammad Tika Khan, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Syed Tajmul Islam Kirmani and Mohammad Shafi Wani were arrested.

LeT militant Mohammad  Naveed Jatt @ Abu Hanjulla and other accused Hilal Ahmad Rather are absconding, against whom non-bailable warrants have been issued by the NIA Special Court.

After the completion of the investigation, NIA filed a charge-sheet against all the above mention six accused.  Further investigation is continuing. (GNS)
