Irfan Pathan kick starts JKCA talent hunt in Srinagar

Ace cricketer Irfan Pathan started his stint with cricket in Jammu and Kashmir with a mega talent hunt organized by the state’s cricket association at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Srinagar on Thursday.

Pathan, who was roped in by JKCA as mentor-cum-coach, arrived in Srinagar on June 22 and directed the association to conduct selection processes at the district level to develop grass root level cricket.

Subsequently, selection process was held by the JKCA across the Valley.The shortlisted players were then called for the selection process monitored and by Pathan.

The selected players from under-14, 16, 19 and 23 age groups from far flung areas arrived in Srinagar on Thursday for a two-day selection process.

“I am happy to see such a raw talent. There is no substitute to hard work and at all levels of cricket. It is basic need for delivering well on the field,” Pathan told the players.
