Srinagar: The BJP has decided to pull out of its ruling alliance with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Tuesday.

According to India Today, the BJP has already sent a letter to Governor NN Vohra saying that the party intends to withdraw support to the PDP.

The decision to this effect has been taken by BJP party president Amit Shah, media reports said quoting sources.

Shah had a long meeting with met BJP ministers in J&K government.

The break-up of the alliance that came into power after the J&K Assembly election of 2014, which saw the PDP emerging as the biggest party with 28 seats and the BJP emerging as the second-biggest with 25 seats, comes at a time when faultlines had been apparent for at least a few months.

Governor’s rule is now likely to be imposed on the state.
