Srinagar: Resident of Ahgam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district Wednesday held protest against what they called highhandedness of Army personnel.

Local residents told Kashmir Reader that three persons were beaten by army soldiers without any reason. They said that the incident took place early today when soldiers asked youth about the firing incident that took place late last night.

Villagers alleged that harassing people by army is order of day in the area. They added that army soldiers often fire speculative shots or training shots and later ask about the firing. “How come villagers know about the firing,” they asked.

Villagers said that one, Muhammad Rafiq Lone son of Muhammad Ashraf Lone was ruthlessly beaten by forces who now has been shifted to SMHS Srinagar.
