Missing KU professor trapped in Shopian gunfight

Police has confirmed that missing Asst Professor of university of Kashmir Dr Mohammed Rafi Bhat has been trapped along with Sadam Paddar in Badigham village of Shopian on Sunday morning. Police said that they have informed the family of trapped professor who are on way to encounter site to persuade him to surrender. Police said that they received the missing report of the professor on Friday and were looking for his whereabouts. After the PHD scholar Manan Wani of Kupwara Dr Rafi is the second highly qualified person to join militant ranks.
Meanwhile soon after the encounter broke out at Badigham village on Sunday morning authorities snapped Internet services in entire South Kashmir and train service was also suspended.
Latest reports from the encounter sites coming to the local news agencies have said that several youth were injured and some seriously as clashes have broke out in Badhigham and adjacent areas with youth trying to break the cordon. Protests were going on when this report was being filed.
Earlier police and that when they were laying the siege, one SOG person and one army jawan was injured.
