Clerical strike halts administrative work in Kashmir: PSAK

Srinagar,: Private Schools Association of Kashmir (PSAK) today said that entire work in government offices have literally shut down particularly related to education department owing to strike by Clerks in the state and government needs to resolve the issue on emergency basis.

The Association said that government and clerks need to come to table to settle the issue before more harm is done. “We already have limited working days and in these days too the clerks have gone on strike,” said G N Var President PSAK. “Entire official work related to private and government shools have come to a halt. Our school functioning is hampered. There are numerous certifications and other formalities to be completed by the schools and due to the strike no work is being done.”

The Association said that the strike has potential to even close down schools as number of educational institutes to have approaching deadlines for registrations.

“We appeal the government to talk to the clerks cadre and resolve their issues at the earliest. We also appeal the Clerical staff to register their protests in such a way that no inconvenience is caused to the general public. He said that clerks are also part of the society and their actions can boomerang in their own lives like affecting education of their children,” said Var.
