Jalandhar: Kashmiri students studying at one of the colleges in Indian Punjab State staged a massive protest after armed men allegedly abducted a student from the college hostel on Friday pre-dawn hours.

Over a hundred Kashmiri students are admitted in St. Soldier Management and Technical Institution located at Jalandhar Punjab. They expressed anguish over the abduction of their class mate.

“We were sleeping at our hostel room when suddenly a group of men brandishing pistols barged into our room and dragged our class fellow Adil Hussain Teli out. They didn’t allow us to speak a word as we were so frightened after they displayed pistols,” said one of the Kashmiri students from Punjab to news agency CNS over phone.

The student almost broke down on phone and requested to bring the matter into the notice of Jammu Kashmir Police.

The abducted students hails from Noonmai, Yaripora Kulgam.

“The Principal is doing nothing, acting like as nothing has happened. Our class fellow who is doing BCA has been abducted and the Principal is telling us it is not an issue at all,” he said.

He added that they even registered a complaint at nearest police station but they also did nothing to trace the abducted student.

When contacted the Principal refused to talk on the issue. “The Principal can talk to you only on Monday,” said one of the teachers of the Institute.
