Kulgam killings: Authorities direct to reduce internet speed in Srinagar, snap in South Kashmir parts

Srinagar: In wake of Kulgam killings, authorities on Wednesday afternoon decided to snap mobile internet services in south Kashmir parts while as they asked the cellular companies to reduce mobile internet speed in district Srinagar as “a precautionary measure”.

 

Official sources told GNS, that police have sent a communication to the cellular companies wherein they have directed them to snap down the mobile internet data in Pulwama, Shopian and Awantipora with immediate effect.
The communication also directed the cellular companies to reduce the 3G/4G speed into 2G speed in Srinagar district with immediate effect.

Earlier, three civilians Sharjeel Khan (25) of Khudwani, Bilal Ahmad Tantaray of Hawoora Mishpora and Faisal Illahi of Melhoora Shopian died while as more than 40 others suffered injuries in clashes with the government forces near the encounter site at Wani Mohalla, Khudwani, Kulgam.

An army man was killed and two other forces personnel were injured in the ongoing gunfight so far.
