Shopian shuts for seventh straight day

There is a complete shutdown in shopian district on saturday against the killings on April 1.In two encounters on that day 12 militants were killed and four civilians were killed near the encounter site by police and security forces.

Local reports from the area said that in the Sunday clashes about 200 civilians were injured as security forces opened fire on the protestors. Dozens of youth with pellet injuries were also being treated in Srinagar hospitals and many of them have lost sight due to pellet injuries.
