Clashes in Shopian, 4 injured, 1 referred to Srinagar

Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Friday resulting in injuries to at least four persons.
The clashes erupted in Mimender and Bonebazar areas where forces fired pellets to disperse the stone pelting protesters, witnesses said.
Four injured were taken to district hospital Shopian, hospital sources said adding one of them with eye injury was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, a protester was injured in clashes with government forces in Qalamabad area of Pulwama.
12 militants and four civilians were killed in Shopian district on April 1 in two different gunfights. One more militant was killed in Anantnag the same day. The whole valley is observing protests since then.
